Smile 4 Happiness aims to channel inner strength and positivity through recreational activities, athletic programs, mindfulness, and fostering creativity for displaced youth. Children between the ages of 3 and 16, in a maximum size class of 15 children with a minimum of two local facilitators, are provided a safe and secure space where they are guided through relaxation exercises, kids yoga, play, music, arts, and crafts.

Our approach nurtures interpersonal and behavioral skills, enhancing good communication, allowing children to learn how to understand and balance their emotions, show and feel empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relations, and acquire necessary life skills such as resilience, self-management, and responsible decision making.

Physical activities are an integral part of the program to nurture happiness, fitness and fun, make use of their energy, and to encourage a positive, team-spirited attitude for successful integration. Our kids yoga lesson plans are combined with mindfulness tools and techniques, breath-work, and fun games that help the body rejuvenate, calm, and heal. They also help strengthen motor skills and hand-eye coordination, boost self-esteem, encourage expression, and prepare the body to learn.

It is important to note that our programs serve both the displaced population and the disenfranchised youth of the host community.
