Ms. De La Fuente has vast experience in peacebuilding and diplomatic efforts stemming from her work at the US Department of Defense’s Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, the British Embassy, and the Embassy of Argentina. Her passion for striving to achieve sustainable peace by addressing issues at their root cause, led her to form the Amal Alliance. She has spoken about her initiative at the World Bank, at the International Refugee Congress in Istanbul, and at the UNHCR Global Compact for Refugees Thematic Discussions in Geneva. Like her work, Danielle’s own background is rich in culture as she was born in San Diego to immigrant parents from Mexico and Iran, and has lived in 4 different countries. James has a Master’s degree in International Relations and Security from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He is currently the Executive Director at the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) where he works to engage both government and civil society. Previously, he provided research support for the U.S. government’s engagement of national security officials from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, and also worked at a non-profit Christian media organization based in Taipei. James has authored various reports and his writings have been published in Strategic Forum, The Diplomat, and The Review of Faith & International Affairs.
Dania Thafer is currently working as a Business Development consultant with a focus on the GCC countries. Previously, she worked in outreach facilitating relations between the Middle Eastern countries and the US, and also has a background in economic research. Ms. Thafer is a Political Science Doctoral Candidate at American University in Washington, DC and has a master’s degree in Political Economy from New York University. In her capacity as a researcher, Ms. Thafer has published several articles, a monograph, and a book on the Arab Gulf countries. Her current research is focused on the political economy of the youth demographics in the Middle East.
Bertha De La Fuente graduated from Universidad Anáhuac with a BA in Science and Humanities with a specialty in ESL, and worked in education for many years. She is a true humanitarian whose passion is helping others, and has sat on the board of many charitable organizations. Currently, she serves as President of the Club Rotario Coronado Binational. UNESCO, CONALMEX, and the Institute for Superior Studies Le Franc recently recognized her efforts by bestowing her an honorary doctorate degree for her work in developing, coordinating, and executing social welfare programs for various organizations between the United States and Mexico.
Andre Gordilho has a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge, a MLitt in International Business from the University of St Andrews, and a BA in International Business Management from Coventry University. He has worked in various roles across the banking industry at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Morgan Stanley, Allia Ltd, and State Street Corporation. He is currently working in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Healthcare division of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in London; delivering corporate lending and all other commercial products.
